We are the leaders in creating clean, natural deodorants.

We’ve developed a framework for helping you create a deodorant that is the perfect fit for your brand—a guide to assist you in considering the various custom formulation options of natural deodorant, and how those line up against your brand position and the needs of your customers.

Our framework uses a library of bases, developed over many years of research and testing. Each base is ready to be used to jump start a custom solution. We’ll start with questions like…

  • What are the features and claims most important to you?

  • Who are your competitors?

  • How and where do you plan to distribute this product?

Based on your answers, we’ll partner to develop your proprietary formula (and your next best-selling product). The deodorants we formulate can be wax-based or water-based, again depending on your unique brand requirements.

The Deodorant Market

The deodorant market is expected to grow from $3.6 billion in sales in 2020 to $4 billion by 2025 (Symrise). Increasing emphasis on hygiene makes deodorants a staple in personal care routines. While consumer skepticism has plagued the natural deodorant market for years, sales continue to grow due to changing perceptions of increased safety and quality.

Clean Matters

Some products are more critical than others when it comes to detoxing your beauty routine. We think deodorant is one of the most important. Deodorant comes into direct contact with one of your body’s most critical detoxifying areas: your underarms. Lymph nodes and sweat glands are concentrated there, and the fact that underarm skin is thin and regularly exfoliated through shaving (for many!) may make it more vulnerable to absorption than skin elsewhere on the body.

So what does ‘clean mean’ for deodorant? It means our formulas are made with plant-powered oils and waxes. It means no parabens, phthalates, sulfates, talc, palm oil, silicones, PEGS or aluminum. It means we are always cruelty-free. And it means we can meet your needs for a vegan, dairy free, gluten free, soy free, hypoallergenic or all of the above. Plus, we’re happy to formulate products based on guidelines defined by Credo, Target Clean, Clean at Sephora, EWG, etc.

Rethinking Personal Care

Well before Covid, many customers were demanding more from their personal care products than what’s typically found in the aisles of your local drug store. Moving beyond simply solving an every day need (i.e. I don’t want to stink), they desired products that felt more luxurious in their presentation, and addressed their evolving ideas around wellness. Covid obviously accelerated this trend, with a heightened focus and emphasis by customers to find hand washes and sanitizers that are more gentle on the skin — and actually hydrate as they perform their core function. In natural deodorants this has expanded to products made with fine fragrances that do not smell like Dove or Right Guard, but rather something more reminiscent of the complexity found in a high-end perfume.

If a brand can successfully meet these expectations and provide a product that goes beyond the ordinary, many customers are more than willing to a significant premium for these products. So for example a natural deodorant of yesteryear found in a mass drugstore might retail for $5 per stick, Target and others now experience the benefit of products selling at $12 per stick (and more).
